Good Evening ..
Does anyone know the size of the immersion heater on T40 .. thread size/ hole etc or have a link for one that would fit .. ours broken now and need to replace

ideally want to get sorted this week

cheers :encouragement:

OE is a standard domestic 11 inch element, 2 1/4 inch thread, 1200w. I replaced mine with a 3kw element, which is obvs loads quicker to hear the water up, with the caveat that you can't load up the rest of the electrics while the immersion is active. Replacing the element is a very easy diy job, once you've got the garage floor up and the drip shield out of the way it's all really obvious.

Cheers .. very helpful :encouragement:

I have just replaced the immersion heater on my P40, different boat I know. Ours was 11", 2 1/4 thread, 1Kw.

I tried changing it for a 3Kw, but even with all other 240v services turned off it kept tripping the main breaker.

I ended up having to get one of THESE.

Blimey Jimmy is there no part of the T40 you haven't changed/improved !?
Think you should write a formal thread
Look forward to your assessment of mine in July

It's fair to say that I've been through most of the boat, although not all of it. They are cracking boats, so it's hard not to hang on to them and fix the (few) things you don't like.

And yes, still on my calendar for July, looking forward to it.

What is this, some kind of new JTB service to give owners a "T40 JTB Stamp of Approval"? If so I want one haha!

Well ive literally just finished replacing it today.. wasn’t too bad of a job.. bit of a mission doing it with garage floor still in but got it done and all working great now

Jeez you did it without lifting the garage floor? How on earth did you get to it? (Why didn't you just lift the garage floor??)

Yeah I wouldn’t recommend to anyone unless you dont mind a bad back :) put a big blanket on port engine and layed on it .. its raining and that garage floor weighs a ton :) im on own today..

Good going :encouragement:

Garage floor is easy enough to lift on your own; getting it out is quite hard solo - a lot easier w two of you. And a telehandler :D
