Targa 33 steering cable

If it is brown then it is a Volvo branded cable which is likely to have cost implications
However it is a standard configuration as I recall big nut at helm smaller nut at rudder for through tube ie Teleflex Big T
Most cable suppliers will offer a replacement but it is worth checking the wear on the drum of the steering box as anything causing a cable to need replacing is likely to have damaged the drum

I thought I was going to need a new cable a couple of weeks back, but a good lube up of the ram and steering pinions has eased it off. Anyway, I looked into buying a replacement and the best I found was ASAP supplies. They have info how to measure and on the connections. I have a morse helm to VP steering ram and the cable was about £85, though it was a Uflex cable compatible with morse and Volvo rather than a genuine morse cable.

Thanks Guys

Managed to have a chat with the tech guru at Teleflex in the States, and from my description, he identified the parts. The cable is no longer available in the states, but Bainbridge marine (UK) can supply

However, he also gave me some other options which will work, and may be easier to change in the future
