We are some way down the road on our next (final?) boat purchase, which is a Princess 40 with 650 hours on TAMD63P's.

We have a sea trial in the near future, and I would like to arm myself with a little info on what to expect in terms of max WOT, running temps etc etc.

Can anyone advise on this plus any other figures we should be looking for?

We are working with a surveyor who has come highly recommended, but I would still like to be armed with info from real world users.

Ensure the boat has a clean hull for seatrial.Check engines for leaks and belt condition.63P's will rev to 2750. I cruise 2500.Engines need to be Rydlymed every couple of years.Injection bends last about 12 years before bend need replacing.

do you mean diesel injector bends or exhaust bends ,just interested

After the turbocharger is a steel 60 Deg bend which connects to the water injection bend to the exhaust both of these corrode the latter blocks up with rust giving poor cooling spray of the exhaust and giving back pressure to the raw water cooling system.

Mine lasted about 12 years then the steel bend failed and when I looked at the injection bend and saw how corroded up they were I replaced both on both engines.

Also check belt tension pulley bearing as I had 2 fail (1 per engine) albeit admittedly after 1500 hours. Both difficult to access so I doubt properly checked on service!
