Hi All,

I noticed on our delivery trip that the port rev counter sometimes looked unstable when compared to the starboard rev counter, the port engine was not varying in revs when I stuck my head in the engine bay and had a listen.

Further investigation found a loose wire on the alternator, which I hope is the culprit. When I had a closer look at the loose wire (Yellow spade connector in the photo) I found that it was loose in the spade connector (Not crimped correctly) and the other end of this short wire was not connected to anything. There is a red bulb/fuse in the middle of this short wire.

Does anyone know where/how this particular wire should be connected?

Nope it isn’t , the alternator is nothing to do with the reading to the rev counter your getting confused with rev counter issues on other threads, the 63 p is driven from a pulse generated signal from a sender on the timing case .
