My starboard engine has started leaking/blowing oil out at high revs' (2,700 rpm +). I can't work out where it's coming from. Crank case pressure would seem the obvious cause but there's no obvious pressure at the oil filler cap and the crank case breather has no sign of significant oil leakage.
There's not huge amounts and it seems to be sprayed about the engine room floor as though under pressure or possibly spinning off rotating machinery. There is no oil on the underside of the engine room covers so it seems to all be going sideways/downwards. It could be coming from somewhere behind the aftercooler but I'm not aware of any oil pipes in that area.
Has anybody any experience of this? Is there any common known problem of this nature with this engine? Any help or advice would be appreciated.
John.
