WHILE DOING ROUTINE SERVICE ON THE HEAT EXCHANGER CLEARING THE TUBE STACK ONE AT A TIME I CAME ACROSS ONE BLOCKED WITH EITHER A LARGE LUMP OF SOLDER OR LEAD ABOUT AN INCH AND A HALF DOWN THE TUBE,IT WOULD NOT DISLODGE AND AS I DID NOT WANT TO PUT UNDUE PRESSURE ON THE TUBE I AM LEAVING IT ALONE,IS THIS A MANAFACTURER PLACED BLOCKAGE. IS IT THERE FOR A REASON AS THERE IS NO WAY YOU COULD SOLDER SO FAR DOWN THE TUBE STACK. WILL THIS HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON THE COOLING BY HAVING ONE BLOCKED TUBE.I HAD NOTICED A SLIGHTLY WARMER RUNNING ENGINE AND FOUND A BUILD UP OF CALCIFICATION
WHICH I CLEARED WITH KETTLE DESCALER.SINCE I HAVE ONLY BOUGHT THIS BOAT I WAS MAKING IT MY BUSINESS TO LOOK AFTER THESE MAINTENANCE ITEMS ASAP AND DISCOVERED THIS.SHOULD I CLEAR THIS BLOCKAGE WITH A FINE DRILL BIT OR LEAVE ALONE.I TOOK A TINY SAMPLE AND PLACED ON A SOLDER BIT WHICH DID MELT SO IT MUST BE LEAD BASED.ANY ENLIGHTENMENT FROM VOLVO EDUCATED GREASERS APPRECIATED
