TAMD 71B air filter alternatives

Go for the k and nIMG_4249.jpeg

I ordered the wrong ones but the engines dont seem to care. I will get straights that are a bit bigger but even at this smaller size…theres no restriction….they would just dirty up quicker

I'd like to change the panel filters for a cone or cylindrical type, I've had a quick look and the K&N RC 5142 seems to fit the bill.
It's a 4.5 inch flange size and I wondered if anyone had other suggestions?
The panel filters, two in each unit.

If I may ask. Why do you wish to replace them? You will get a littel more noise as the housing also (apparantly) works as a silencer. The aftermarket filters are super cheap as well.

A couple of reasons, the K&N will continue to flow long after the panel filters start to degrade and removes some clutter from the rear of the engine, it's easily cleaned and enables easy checking of the ageing turbos.
Any additional noise doesn't concern me as we spend most of the time on the fly bridge.
I just think it's an easy and tidy solution.

It defo makes the engines a little more peppy too due to increased airflow

I wouldnt say k and n are cheaper either. Aftermarket decent OE Panel filters are pennies

For me it really helps with access between the engines too

Fitted, I actually purchased a slightly different filter as the original has a hole in the cap for a retaining rod, bought from the same company that Paul recommended who were really good to deal with.
