Talking outboard remote extension

hi to all i just got a 27ft center cockpit norman with outboard.....
.the remote wasnt connected or the steering..... which i have connected
but throttle control only reaches to door of aft cabin so....
i bought another throttle unit i plan to disconnect cables from existing unit and connect to new unit as that just has bare steel cable no ends (where engine side cable links should be)
i think that may work but maybe i may have to fix cable shrouds to a box so inner cable can be joined
all help welcome and no i dont want to spend sixty quid upwards to try buy cables that are21ft

What engine and remotes are we talking here ? Might help you get best advice. Can be a awkward thing to set up, if starting from scratch
