Talking of ditch-crawling

Thats part of the Southern Wastelands trip I alluded to earlier.
If the weather is good enough, we can anchor/get stuck on the Artificial Island and watch the birdies and have a BBQ for a tide.

I thought that landing on Bun Island was verbotten. I only went sailing once before I bought a boat in 2000 and that was a trip to Bun Island in c. 1977 where we had a BBQ.

Went Wivenhoe the other year.
Sailing club has pontoon berths, hold about 10 boats if i remember right.
No charge, just buy a few drinks in there clubhouse.
Good toilets, made very welcome.
Lovely town, nice pub grub.
Not sure if you can book a berth though, think it is "first come" rule.

Just before gates..

Wivenhoe was suggested to us as a destination by Tony at FYS so could be up for that if its a weekend we can get away (not that its looking too good on that front at the moment but that's another story :()

Reportedly they have had visitors drawing up to 2.1m - http://www.wivenhoesailing.org.uk/visitors.htm

It's long been my ambition to do the Havengore, and I would love to do so in company so keep me posted, if you would.

We're also up for any other creek crawling where our 3ft draught long keeler can sit upright in the mud (or at least not be on her side too long!).

Be absolutely delighted.

Lets choose a weekend where we can go across to Queenborough and make a nice passage of it.
