I have been restoring a marine ply 18 footer for the last two years. I have recently found out that it is a Talisman. I cannot find any information on the web. Do you know anything of this design ? I would guess that she is around 30 years old. The sail number is 55.

That’s interesting. I’d always thought they were GRP as mine was (1985 - 1988) . The manufacturer was Banham. Yours is clearly the original prototype , mine a mould on that . And nor can I find any info, though about 10 years ago it was possible to find the odd one for sale. Mine ...er (without going into circs) has ..er disappeared. Last seen Peterborough. If you spot one, let me know

In fact Banham built a number of marine ply Talismans before switching to GRP construction. I bought one second hand in 1974 and kept her for eight years. "Melody" was sale number 53. Light Craft magazine did a test report of them in July 1964, so they must have had a reasonable production run.
