Hi,

The steering cable is connected to the steering cylinder on the transom. See below link. The steering cable goes into the cylinder (872215) and the end of the cable is attached to bolt (872490). So when you turn the wheel the cable pushes or draw back the bolt. You cannot have any play here I should think. Only thing that can happen here is a stuck cylinder but it means you cannot turn your wheel.

I am sure your issue is at the hub behind the steering (The T-system as you call it). Start your search there.
