Taking The Family Out For The First Time!

I went to Lee-on-Solent from Portsmouth yesterday (with my son and daughter) and went ashore to walk the dog. I noticed whilst we were there that there is a lovely splash park and playground near to the sailing club.
Very worth a visit on the right day with the aim of amusing small children.

Cheers Rushy, that one trip made all the effort and cost over three boats in not so many years worth it. I've definitely got the bug and my daughter wants lessons :D She recently went on a school water activities day and was the only pupil that could sail and describe boat parts. She suffers at school as she is extremely shy and also has severe dyslexia so cannot keep up with the others. If she can be good and confident in one activity it will do wonders for her self esteem.

Kids with Dyslexia are still in this day and age just sitting through lessons unable to understand most things as they cannot read the board, follow instruction etc. A mix of home tutoring and school would be the ideal but schools don't do part-time  School is largely a waste of time for her and it's saying something when my parents a teacher & head of a primary school and my wife also a primary school teacher agrees! She will be OK and find her niche in life and the sailing world wouldn't be a bad start.
