Taking speedboat to Spain

Thanks. I have booked the villa for this year same place we went last year and it was fantastic, but Sant Charles looks really nice so might check it out for future trips.
I have a 14 yr old daughter with learning difficulties so the overnight ferry is much easier than a very long drive. I booked the ferry a while ago speculatively as it was only £50 deposit so got it at a reasonable price. We are going with some friends so no doubt a couple of beers on the ferry to start the holiday (plenty of time to come around before having to drive at the other side) and a six hour drive I can cope with.

The drive from N Spain to the Med is one of the easiest you'll ever do, the roads are excellent and the traffic is minimal, apart from around the cities. However, I suspect that to get where you are going might take a little longer than 6 hours. It takes us 6 hours to get to near Benidorm from the San Sebastián area, so maybe 8-9 hours for your destinations?
We spent a few days on the Costa Brava last summer and thought it a beautiful place, and perfect for using a small boat. I'm sure you'll all have a great time.

Should be fun.

Not sure about Spain, but in Atlantic France one of the harbour masters got grumpy about some RIBs (being used as coach boats for junior sailing regatta) not having proper flags/ensigns.
Some nations more used to this had natty flags made up as covers on the outboard motors. We had to improvise an ensign.

Hi, just returned from Spain by air, having taken a 7 metre boat by road , via Portsmouth to Santander. Done the journey many times , twice with a boat, and went this time to help a friend. We travelled south of Alicante.
Journey is not really a problem, very good roads wth little traffic.
I would defo get an SSR, and also make sure that your trailer conforms, as the Guardia are really hot on that. If you have an SSR that will help, towing a British registered boat. Apart from that I doubt you will have many problems if you follow advice on here and have all of your docs with you.
Have a good trip, we went over recently across the Bay of Biscay in the recent storms......scary !!!

Thanks for the advice. The trailer is a twin axle and was recently serviced at a main indespension agent and brakes and bearings were all renewed (I think it was not looked after very well previously) so should hopefully be fine.
I will get an SSR before going.
Many Thanks
