Tahiti

I have recently purchased a teak on oak motor launch which I would like to restore to its original condition.
I would like to research its history but am unable to find any information.
If anyone remembers the boat or can give me any advice on how to find the information i need, I would appreciate it.
All I know is that the boat, called "Tahiti" was built in 1930 by navel
apprentices at Gosport as a retirement present for a navel Architect whose
father had once been the Governor of Tahiti, hence the name.
As fare as I know ( not really knowing much about boats ) the boat is a 19 foot carvel built teak on oak motor launch.
It has a P55 Stuart twin cylinder two stroke engine with forward and revers gears.
As you may be able to tell I know nothing at all about boats. I managed to stop this boat being concreted into a pub car park where it was destined to become a
child's climbing frame. having seen it, loved it and now having purchased it, I find myself delving into the world of boat renovation ( scary i can tell you ).
It looks to me to be in very good condition and having taken advice from someone who knows it apparently requires virtually no major work at all just some TLC.
Before I turn it into something for my wife and myself to cruse the canals and rivers in I would like to research its history in a view to restoring it back to its
original condition, which I am told would not take that much if only I could find some sort of photographs or reference to see what it looked like when built.
I purchased this boat in Chichester West Sussex in September this year.
I can send a photo of the boat as it stands now if this would help.
If anyone recognizes this boat and has any information on it at all I would appreciate it.
You can contact me at dave@alimac-uk.com
Thank you.
