Please find the response from Tacktick below, and give them a chance to repair their web site. I don't understand why it should effect their phones, as I rang them before trying their web site.....

Please stop sending the form (we now have 95 entries from you). Although you are getting an error the forms are being received but due to a server failure the confirmation emails are showing errors. Engineers are trying to fix things but are struggling due to the data flow. We are trying to fix this without turning off the website completely.
Unfortunately the same failure appears to have wiped out our telephone exchange at the same time. We have two lines only which are proving very busy.

If you can post this to the YBW forum I would be grateful as this appears to be a growing thread.

I cannot imagine the crassness of a web site that has no error trapping on the serial number - or perhaps it should be crashness.....

I e-mailed them months ago with a query, they responded to say that query had been passed to technical dept. and they would contact me shortly - still waiting!

They had to answer me as I now know how to bring their website down!

Not solved the problems until I can get the serial numbers. I would have thought the year of purchase would have been enough. Will have to wait until May when I go back to Greece. Though not happy that they cannot give indications of what the problem may be....

Depth reads irratically, 000 or --- or the proper depth. When closing shallows it sometimes does not read until 6 to 10 metres - not good when its blowing 40knots and your entering a strange marina on a lee shore!

Mmm - I had thought these were supposed to be the proverbial bees knees.

Think I'll stick with Nasa - at least the nice chap there answers the phone and gives you the answer without any nonsense....

Woooaaa, not so fast. I have just had a detailed response from them. Remember mine is one of the very early ones- at least 2004. I had far more problems with Raymarine stuff only just out of warranty!

The Stuff is good, and incredibly convenient. For instance I have 2 wind repeaters and I have one above the skipper bunk when I am off watch. Do not dismiss them likely - I also have no complaint about their support response - just caught them at a bad time yesterday.

My guess is that they have ISDN 2e - that does two phone lines, either or both of which can be used for data.
