Tacktick Compasses

We have only one bulkhead compass and SWMBO's favoured dozing-in-the-cockpit position obscure it completely on port tack. One of those Tacktick digital jobbies mounted on the hatch garage looks like a good solution. We would only rarely use the racing functions and I'm not sure if it can be set up as simple steering compass. Anybody using one as a steering compass?
