Tack tick wind

Anyone know the life expectation of a tack tick wind. Its off the top of the mast probably the first time in 15 years. Can you replace the battery? Is it worth it, seems to work OK but sometimes a bit erratic.

About £62 for a replacement battery. Divided by 15 is not too bad an annual rate. Assuming it's this one. Raymarine Wireless Wind Transmitter Battery Pack and Seal - TA125

There is a battery pack inside the body. An official battery and seal is about £67 . However I have just ordered a pair tagged batteries for about £7. of the same spec and intend to assemble them using the wire and plug that comes off the existing battery pack and hope the seal is still serviceable .

Tagged CR2032 or CR2025 batteries.
The CR2032 is 0.7mm thicker than the CR2025, therefore it has a higher capacity.

Will be interested to hear who you get on and what is actually fitted originally, the OD defines CR20 or CR24, mine will be due sometime soon.

I seem to recall that Raymarine have a good library of old manuals and FAQs, etc. on their website.

It's the auto-networking guide that you need from the above link. Easy as long as you do the pairing before putting the unit back on the mast-top!

You have to have them close together and set the pairing in the display, if you forget you can set the display to pair and hoist it up the mast in a bag
