Tabur yak 111 help

Hi all im new to the boat scene. Located in southwestern ontario canada. I just recently bought a tabur yak 111 for $100. At a estate sale. Its a light cool lil boat but the person put fiberglass on the bottm hauls. I cant find to much info on it so i joined here hoping to find some answers lol. I will be completely overhauling it and want to stirp the fibreglass off it re paint it and use new hardware to put it back together. So what are these boats made of.? Is there any plan's or restoration guides manuals lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Want to get this gem back safely on the water... Thank you and cheers

Lots around here (the 245). If you drag them up the shore the hull wears and then cracks.
They are polyethelene and almost impossible to repair successfully.
You can get a repair kit (about £45) or some people say you can plastic weld them using milk bottles.

I have welded using a hot knife successfully using the plastic bungs they use in Beer Casks!:encouragement:

Those plastic dinghies can be 'welded' using the correct, compatible, materials with a decent thermostatic hot air gun like the Leister. Whether it's worth doing it is another matter.

Fibregalss finds it difficult to stick to plastics without proper preparation, so there's a possibiilty the patch may not be solid. Best to scrape it off, make sure the inner hull is dry, and replace with another GRP patch.
