any idea for mounting a tablet on boat. inside cabin.. either to window or some way on dash.
avoid screws if possible.
suction mount is an option but how safe are these in rough sea ????

any idea or pics??

what size tablet you use?
so u have the normal suction pad?

Actually the one I use is for a large phone, my point is, a normal suction cup (with lever) which is also coated in a gel like substance works very well. So basically search on amazon etc for that design. Normal suction without the gel simply don't hold, based on experience.

I got one of these, I removed the clamp and bolted it to the side of my radar monitor mounting bracket.. really pleased with it, very tough.

I tried a suction pad mount but it was not successful. Double sided self adhesive Velcro works perfectly.

I've tried several with suction mounting and although I have never had problems with the suction pad itself, I have found anything with a arm and ram mount tends to vibrate a lot unless you can tilt it in such a way that the tablet also rests against something. It's feasible but awkward and you always seem to end up fiddling with it to get it right.
In the end I gave up on the idea and mounted it directly using a Konig Tablet fixed wall mount.

These do have screws but it would not be beyond the wit of most to fit a suction pad on one. I never, I just screwed it in as a permanent fixture because the panel it went into is easily replaceable should I tire of it. It also has the advantage is it can rotate on a spring loaded splined base so is quickly and easily changed from portrait to landscape.

any pics of it bolted close up?

no, sorry I did search, that was the best pic I had, all the others were from ahead!

But you can see from the pic of the tablet holder, where the clamp is you can simple unscrew the bottom section/clamp part, throw that away and you are left with the smart black angled metal bracket attached to the bendy section and holder. This I simply marked up on the side of my radar mount, drilled 4 holes in it and bolted it on, looks a professional job IMO.. and that bendy section is very stiff so don't worry if you are mounting a large tablet, it will hold it!

When next down I will take a pic and post it here, might not be for a week or so.
