I sent off for my T2L on 27 March.

I was expecting a long wait.

Signed by them on 28th and returned to me by 30 March.

Jolly well done chaps!!!!!

+2, although I had made the mistake of filling in page 1, which looks almost identical to the correct page 4. They returned it to me, I did it correctly and they sent back the T2L by return. Less than a week in total including my cock-up.

It's a form used for shipping goods in the EU, basically saying that VAT has been paid. If Brexit ever happens it seems the form might be useful to own and it costs nothing, so worth having.

Also good is the swift response by them to the RYA about us with boats in the EU, basically, when we come back they will use the existing rules, modified to suit our circumstances. See my post in Liveaboards

What information did you send them, the 2 obvious ones are bill of sale and SSR registration. Any others bits of paper required?

I did mine a couple of months ago. Didn't send them any paperwork other than page 4 of the document correctly filled in. It was returned within the week. Put a stamped addressed envelope in though.

Mixed massages then, from experience above and the RYA information on the T2L (members section) below: -

Supporting evidence
You are asking for a document that demonstrates that the boat was supplied in the EU, you should therefore provide copies of document which evidence that the boat is of EU origin. You will need to satisfy HMRC of the EU origin of the boat in order for them to issue the retrospective T2L. The RYA therefore cannot guarantee that they will issue a T2L.

The RYA has been advised by members that have already applied for the T2L that HMRC does not return the supporting evidence sent with the form.

PLEASE ONLY SEND COPIES OF YOUR SUPPORTING EVIDENCE, DO NOT SEND ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS.

Just saying what I and several others on this forum did. It worked for us. Fill in page 4. Send it to Salford with a stamped, addressed envelope and you will receive it back within a few days signed and stamped. If you want to send other documents then feel free to do what you think is correct but it's not required. Do not send original documents though.
