I want to equalise my batteries ,
Do I first get them to float charge then turn the MPPT to equalise
Or switch MPPT to equalise while still on bulk ?

I think at the end of the absorption phase / beginning of the float That's when a Victron will do it if set to equalize automatically

What MPPT controller do you have

Normal advise seems to be get them to confirmed 100% then equalise.

I must be missing something.
I cannot see how you initiate equalisation manually .
