T-Mobile/Orange Users

I think this has a boaty relevance:
You can now sign up to pick up a signal from Orange when you don't have a T-Mobile signal and vice versa to improve reception areas.

Go to: http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/share/

I'm on Orange and in the office only got 1 or at best 2 bars, signed up for this yesterday and got the update after about 2 hours. Now I have a full house signal and a useable mobile at work.

Thanks for that.

Set SWMBO's Orange phone up .. perhaps it'll work in the house now!

Thanks for that. My Orange mobile now works in the local Sainsburys (using T-mobile) where it was dead as a dodo before. Got a bit fed up with the number of texts from the network saying "thanks for signing up...", "This is how it works...", "Turn the mobi off/on", "There - didn't that work well?...", etc. etc.

Thanks. Maybe I'll now get a signal at the marina at low water. At high water I get a signal from across the river. Buuger, just looked at Sightfinder and the T-mob and Orange masts are int he same places.

From memory I get Orange signal all the time on my mooring (yes I know I haven't been there much this year) enough that I can run 3g to the laptop.

I thought the Orange mast was just down the road shared with 3

Anyone got a link to the orange page to add it as I cant find it

In case it wasn't picked up in the national press, Orange (France Telecom) and T Mobile (Deutsche Telekom) have now merged and become Everything Everywhere (slightly ominous choice of name I feel!). http://everythingeverywhere.com/

I believe they intend to keep the two discreet brands for now although there is talk of them taking combined property assets in secondary high street locations, but it's clearly delivering some unexpected benefits for customers.

Signed up all our Orange phones.. they send a text which you reply to to get enabled.... but have been trying for 3 days to send the reply and it wont go!

So, good idea if it works.

As said earlier did SWMBO phone on Friday. Not put to the test as in actually using it but it appears to now have a T mobile signal around the house where previously there was no Orange signal.

Just done mine OK . No problems with the text reply!

But then got another message "Update Error: 030146"

Gawd knows what that means. Trying to go through the process again just tells me I am already updated!

So

I tried texting "Yes" again . Now got a message apologising for the trouble and telling me to dial 450 .... That's busy .... Will try again later

( thought I'd be clever and Google for the error code .... guess what ... comes up with this thread)
