T&K entrance warning

Following on from a previous thread: watch out!

The entry channel is badly silted up on the upstream side: it's marked with posts BUT when turning in, especially from upstream/ Caversham side , make sure you come in wide, turn and come in straight, not on the turn.

Big barge got jammed hard earlier: I tried to pull him but no luck.... Surprised how unhelpful some far bigger craft were....

Also coming out of lower end of Boulters Lock about 20yards below the little bridge there is an obstruction slightly right of centre.

Chaps & chapesses:-

The warning posts in my OP above have been removed and so when leaving T&K I (stupidly) assumed that this was an indication of the channel having been cleared. Wronnnnnng!

The starboard side AS YOU LEAVE remains heavily silted and you should keep well clear!

When you come back in, the upstream corner is VERY heavily silted. Keep clear!

No idea why the warnings have been removed.....very confusing as the marina staff made the effort to put them in!

I touched the bottom going in and out of T and K this weekend (pretty big thump.) Slightly worrying as I was close to the pilings in what should be the deepest part of the channel. I will be having words with the office tomorrow.
