Hi All, I want to replace the teak panels on my Beneteau 423. I have decided to use synthetic teak. The panels can be made at home and taken to the boat. I want to start with the three panels on the swim platform. Straight strips, simple design. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

We are based in uk but have had Flexiteak from day 1 . On the mobo forum lots of picks of mobo owners doing diy Flexiteak or similar installations with photos etc of their work . I guess you have already asked on beneteau owners forum for plans/advice etc which might be another source of info.

We've gone with Tek-Dek, they did the templating and have an install date at the end of the month, so far so good

We have flexiteak, fitted in the UK about ten years ago. We have now been in the Med for 9 years and the Flexiteak is beginning to suffer splits up the bleach seams. What was a beautiful seamless finish originally is now a bit of a patchwork. I have been on my knees for the past two days repairing caulking (not very well!) It is still good to walk on, easy to clean, and looks great from a distance.
Incidentally, we will be back home to Port Iasos Marina for a couple of weeks in July, so may very well drop in to Yalikavak if there is time (and £££££).

I’m seriously looking at Lignia. A resin impregnated soft wood. Quotes are a fair bit cheaper than teak. Looks awesome here:

I replaced all teak with Dek-King six years ago, it was easy to apply and has worn exceptionally well. But I think Dek-King was subsequently taken over by Flexiteak.

Do you know of a UK source for Lignia? AFAIK the UK Lignia supplier for Spirit went out of business .
I checked. They shut down recently and Accoya now owns the machinery and has ceased production. They do a similar product, but not the same. What a shame. This was a really viable alternative to teak.

Hi All,
I have been talking to TrakMark. I got the info from Hurricane on the Mobo forum.
Thanks for all the info.
Resolution, I am based across the way in Gulluk. I am out in all of July so maybe we can meet up?

It gets dirty real quick and hard to clean. Strip decks no tea much better.
