Not for me, but nice to look at and be on. It's nice to see someone breaking out of the conservative innovation in the boating industry (hardly a sea change in design in the last 20 years IMHO...there are some examples but not many)
Found these links and a slide show for those of you that (like me) didn't know of this boat before.
Deleted User, I love your comments and very PC they are too
Nah, Zaha is a decent (or rather one of the most prestigious) proponents of new forms in design, deriving from complex algorithms tuned via simple shapes and intuitive s/w.
I agree this thing is carp for a boat and definitely overdesigned as it looks on exterior. Mind structural rigidity of the whole boat could be in another league which means that injection techniques and light materials could make this a seriously light and capable vessel.
Further, if they bother to produce and interior layouts that are worth the pixels they're stored on, it could be exceptionally good. Doubt as her designs are grande and not dealing with the right level of detail making sure things fit and spaces are as large as they have to and not wasted...
Doesn't mean that in a few years time someone redrafts the design criteria and comes up with something interesting and altogether different. We do have some oddly shaped cats but imho it's a move that has to be done and may benefit us in the long term.
