SY Atrevido ex drug running yacht

It's supposed to be bad luck to rename a boat. In this case I reckon it could be worse luck not to if you plan to do international trips.

Lot of boat for £6K, though I wonder what the inside is like after HMRC have finished with it.

Will probably end up on YouTube as a "restoration" project...

Pip Hare’s old boat Super Bigou / Medallia has been re-named at least 9 times, and certainly doesn’t seem unlucky.

I read the surveyors report. I can’t imagine why anyone would pay £62400 for it. It needs so much spending on it to bring it up to scratch I doubt they will get their money back.

Knowing how sensitive dogs are, I wonder if you can ever truly get the scent of cocaine out? Bit of a bummer if it gets torn apart every time you check in somewhere new

On the other hand, maybe the price went so high because the plod didn't spot the cast gold keel?

That came about when names were engraved into the transom, to rename it meant to file or sand down the transom to engrave a new name. This weakened the transom meaning renamed boats suffered more losses. Naturally it wasn't having a thinner weaker transom that was the issue, it was the renaming that was deemed the problem.
