Morning all,
Had to share this one .............
We're sat going through the details of various potential boats.
SWMBO turn and advises me "this one's only got one windscreen wiper all the rest have two................................................................oh dont worry its ok it's on the drivers side!!
Near fell off the chair :D

I'm sorry, but that sounds a perfectly reasonable statement of fact to me, I don't uderstand why you are belittling her over it.


After all, you ARE talking about MOTOR boats. :D

We were on the 140,000 ton Adventure of the Seas the week before last.

Oh I'm only redressing the balance, she misses absolutely none of the chances to comment on my "senior moments" of which there are plenty:D

DAM N BLAST !!!!.........ive just sprayed my fresh cupotea all over the keyboard n screen......SOMEONE WILL PAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I cannot see any problem with the statement. We have a offset helm on our boat so have a "driver's side" ......and wipers. Even if my wife come up with some odd comment I wouldn't rush on to here to belittle her.

many people on here are long time posters and friend in real life and as such feel that a light hearted dig at each other and occoasinally thier families is a fun way of chatting.

It's a public forum not an old boys club. The whole SWMBO thing is patronising and not in the least bit funny...
 
its just another acronym in a list of thousands.
they are all pointless and are left over from when it was cool to use these things and like text speak will disapear soon.
i find it silly aswell and never use it but its not meant to be derogatory to their partners.

Those of you berating me for the original post have as usual made an ASSUMPTION.
You have assumed that SWMBO wasn't looking over my shoulder and laughing as I made the first post.
As we all know assumption is the mother of all f**kups.
So perhaps winding in of necks is now appropriate:D
As a small point we all know what SWMBO stands for and it's us who are the underdog in that acronym!
Me n SWMBO obviously have a "different" relationship to some of you!
she wasted no time in telling the world how it took me 2 hrs to get a new light fitting working (yes I forgot the bulb!)
As for any soggy keyboards or monitors many apologies chaps.

Don't worry mate. My SWMBO found it very funny and likes being a SWMBO.
 
You still haven't explained to this simple raggie why you consider what she said to be laughable & derisory. My boat doesn't have any wipers at all - no where to put them anyway altho she is often sailed in rain & spray.

Ha, saw a set of those just yesterday, given to my mate by the orginal owner, a Mr Reginald Kenneth Dwight a.k.a Sir Elton Hercules John! I thought my house was full of crap, until I saw his current gaff!! (How annoying crap is not allowed by the swear filter :-O)

Lighten up. If you don't have that kind of banter between yourself and your partner I can imagine it a very sterile relationship. Women love it along with a slap on the arse.....
