SWMBO my soulmate.

What a lovely post! Well done Stu!

I was getting pretty pissed off with all those dodgy jokes (though some are quite funny), and all the poor lonely men saying their wives didn't understand them or want to sail with them.

Well, I'm the SWMBO and we do all those things togther (except the motorbike), and it's great.

Why have only one?
(In this photo I'm below resting in my bunk)

I've cheapened this thread haven't I? I'm Sorry.

Proud to say I've got one as well. In recent times, apart from the normal bit with ropes (no smutty remarks please /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif), she has mended a tear on the canvas 'tent'; diagnosed and repaired a fuel problem off-shore of Conwy; and, possibly best of all, suggested that I spend a male bonding day with forumites philiz & kawasaki on Sunday! Yep, Mrs Lawsy is an absolute star.

Re: SWMBO my soulmate,

I can match the 23 years married but unfortunately none of the others apply!

She feels seasick sitting looking out of the window of the Butt & Oyster at Pin Mill at HW!

Got her afloat one weekend last season and she sat below playing cards in a lifejacket with no3 son for the trip (all of 8 miles) back!

Still she has allowed me to get another boat - and she gets a new kitchen!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What a great post, many thanks, Stu.

I'm planning to have a new SWMBO later this year. She learned to dive and sail dinghies in her native Singapore. She hasn't quite got her Irish Sea sea legs yet but so far undeterred. She's got great sense of direction, really good at slow speed manoeuvring while I do the bit at the front. She keeps me fed and watered with coffee and cake while making way and creates really imaginative Peranakan dishes from the galley once we've done the day. She takes some great photo's, too. The best crew I've ever sailed with!

Re: SWMBO my soulmate,

Her dad always said he was 36, so she has carried on the tradition! She is yoounger than me,obviously, and she carries her age well. It was funny one evening in company for dinner, the other swmbo says, hey stu, how old are you? 61 says I, Lau is only 36! You could see the furtive eying up going on, then, the other swmbo says, how old is your daughter, 20 says I. Hmm by this time it was hilarious seeing the looks coming from swmbo2, I then put the killer punch in, She was a child bride dont ya know!!

Re: SWMBO my soulmate,

Hmm, that was the Florida Mall the other year, 2 daughters and SWMBO, they look like 3 sisters and swop clothes, She put a pair of the youngests skinny jeans on the other night when we went to the wine bar, eyes nearly popping out of my mates heads!!

Thanks for a really nice post.
Hope you don't mind a petrol head on here, but could not resist joining such a positive thread. I doubt that this will work as it is my first go at posting pictures.
Boating was not my wifes favourite pastime, unless it was a warm, dry, flat calm day, but she supported me in every way for 42 years and her recent passing has left a huge hole.
If you have got one that is half descent - treasure them.

Well it half worked - I'll readup and try again

I feel dead chuffed that I did a nice one instead of being a grumpy old man as usual.
You know I dont know what i would do without her, she is my mate, my love and my friend.
