If its crewing to the Med then get ye to the back of the queue (and it's a long one!)

Anyway, before departing for the Med there would have to be lots of briefings and suchlike in MYC 'cos Dave is a stickler for navigation and "We'll head to the fairway and turn left and keep going" just isnt good enough.

Re the engine - my bmc 1.8 has always given good service - as far as I know it's a diesel.

Lot's of Breifings without DS goes without saying too.
The Man is obviously not up to it.
SWMBO has to be included for obvious reasons.

Yes your bmc (actually should be an ex Taxi engine) is a diesel.
About 30 Horse Power.
But 30 horses won't get us to Port Lacuette/ lacoot or whatever the place is called.
Unless we can find a towpath all the way!

Yer missing the obvious - Any fool can helm.

We need DS to put sufficient finance in place to ensure that a continuing supply of sufficient carbon burning fossil fuels are provided to ...whatever Internal combustion thingy he eventually decides to over-equip himself with!

My reasons for championing the cause of the bmc 1.8 are twofold.....

1) Fuel economy - DS will expend less ackers on fuel and (ifso fatso) will have more available when it comes to stand his round.

2) Less haste - the bmc will ensure a much more temperate velocity than DS has been used to and will ensure that the crew is able to (ahem) partake of the many and varied opportunities that will present themselves on the passage south.

If you really want to sign up for this gig you're going to have to start thinking "Porthmadog style!"
 
Dave - have a good look round for Yamaha 370 sti combo. It's what I re-engined Solitare with. I'd do it again! Fab unit,much better than KAD 32.
 
Agree with most.
Deffo DS needs to be 'Nose To Grindstone' to supply Finacial aid for Fossil and other Fuels.
I agree the Taxi engine would progress The Team leisurely Southwards.

But I see it (Taxi Engine) as a Wing propulsion.
Then again, as You say, the opportunities heading South.
The Taxi engine could 'put put' us into Ports of Need.

Hmm, We might need the bmc
