Switch panel - What do you have?

I have been tempted to put a switch on the negative supply to the switch panel. This would turn off all the panel lights but not switch anything off.

Good plan.

I just didn't fit any illuminated switches in the first place . Rocker switches with the part that's exposed when "on", coloured red, work just as well.

I don't have illuminated switches because of slight paranoia about electric consumption. I don't really know if its a legitimate concern though.

You can get LED consumption down to 0.1 ma ( 0.0001 amp ).

If light from any source is a problem, adults can of course use a sleep mask - with the added thrill for the older sailor of appearing like Gilbert Harding (or Lady Isobel Barnett) on What's My Line.
