Does anyone have experience with Swing keels here and how to do a general review on them? I here that the pivots can ware and become oval shaped leading to wobble.

How much play should there be if any and is there an easy check?

Advice appreciated.

Impossible to generalise as there are so many different designs and materials used. Wear is inevitably an issue and any noises or movement needs to investigated.

I think the pivot is the most awkward part of a swing keel.

To be perfectly honest, I don't know how, or on what my keel pivots. It's impossible to see anything from above or below.

I do know in my case (totally different boat of course) that it's an encapsulated keel who's "top" part is a snug fit into the keel box, and that combined with the weight of the keel, means it doesn't rattle around.
