Swindlery recomendations (for clothing) Cardiff area

A friend of mine is a very enthusiastic newcomer to sailing and wants to come cruising with me this winter, thus he is in the market for some entry level foulies. Being a big unit he doesn't want to buy on line as he wants to try things for size. He lives in Warwickshire but is visiting Cardiff this weekend.

Recomendations in Warwickshire also appreciated but I lived there for years and am not aware of anyone.

I believe Force 4 have opened a new branch in the Cardiff area, IIRC from their website.

If in south Warwickshire you could try the Helly Hansen and Musto stores at Bicester outlet village.

Marine Scene in Penarth have a large stock of clothing. marine scene

5 minute drive from Force 4.

Agree, Musto store at Bicester will order in (still at discount prices) kit for you if they haven't got it in stock. Most is last years (or year before) stock (but does it matter??). Got my all my kit there. Good helpful staff who know their product!!!!!!!

I've been to Bicester a couple of times but whilst it's cheaper than most, the chap in question is really not looking at (even discounted) Musto prices.

I dont know whether they still do them but I once bought a set of oilies from Cosalt in Avonmouth. They looked just like Musto but were well made for the fishing boat market and at fisherman prices. Whats more they were foam lined for flotation and so absolutely brilliant for winter use.,

Re Cosalt in avonmouth They do still do them.Ive got a jacket,as you say there great in cold weather but I find it very hot in summer or if doing anything physical.
