I collect my brand new boat next week, its a Quicksilver 555 Cabin, and I would like an extended swim platform. Is it something that should be factory fitted, or is there away around it ?If there is a way around it, where would I purchase one from, or would I have to go to a Quicksilver Dealer and buy the appropriate one for the boat. I have an outboard engine, if that's helps (probably isn't relevant lol). Thanks guys

You could have one fabricated that goes around the outboard , but will the transom of the new boat take it . Just a thought have you seen the inflateable ones a bit like a paddle board.

Most boats like the 555 etc won’t have swim platforms, more port and starboard boarding platforms.
why didn’t you spec it into the purchase of it’s a new boat ? Or by new do you mean new to you ?
thought you were looking for larger boats to long distance cruise and stay on ?

Remember installing a marine radio in a shaft drive peche promenade of some flavour, the swim platform flexed alarmingly if you attempted to board from the stern ladder .
It was not very substantial.

Funnily enough I'm just about to start fabrication of one for my Reinell V 204. Starting with two stainless box sections bolted inside the hull sides and passing through the transom. From there it will be fabricated in situ.

Its a brand new boat, but it was in stock, I didn't order it from the factory, so that wasn't an option.

I'd show the pic to the dealer and ask the Q. It may be available as an add on. You could have them fabricated but the costs are going to add up.

thanks scala, im off to a local dealer tomorrow to get the electronics sorted i will ask him

The swim platform is the most important part of a boat, it’s where almost all the social bits happen. If the boat is your private island, the swim platform is the beach. Those two half platforms should just bolt on, I’m sure the dealer will easily do it
