The 'teak' on the platform is lifting slightly. Any specific glue I should use or is it an 'experts' job?

Is it "real Teak" or artificial, is it screwed down or is it just glued in place, I think a little more info will get you more information on how to deal with it

Hi Tom, I believe it's proper teak but can't swear to it and I'll need to take another look but think it's glued down. Not much help really am I

Be fair - the 'teak' didn't come with a manual so you couldn't have read it!

If it is lifting it might well now be wet underneath. I would be inclined to get a pro to look at it. As long as it isnt widespread, a few hundred quid to dry it, glue it and re caulk it.

Assuming the area under the lifted deck is not wet then you can use the following method
Fix a depth stop on a drill bit equal to the thickness of the decking plus a mm or two, and drill a hole through a caulking line (and possibly through some teak below it, depending on how the planks are joined), but not into the GRP deck below. Drill a feed hole at one end of the lifted area, and a vent hole at the other end. Pump Sikkaflex 298 through very slowly (or you'll hydraulically lift even more of the decking), until it starts to come out of the vent hole. You may need more than one feed and vent hole, depending on the size and shape of the lifted area. If the lifted area is on one edge of the deck, then obviously drill feed holes as far from the edge as you can, and let the glue seep out under the edge, but mask the surrounding GRP first.
Once the glue is in, place as many heavy weights as you can get hold of on the lifted area, and leave it for a couple of days. Mask the area around the holes (but don't block them) as some sikkaflex should be forced back out by the weights.
If there's water underneath then I think part of the deck needs lifting and re-laying

Thanks all. Mil...nope no manual for once lol. Think it'd be a good chance that the underside (partially) will be damp. Thanks for that method, will take a look and see if it's workable or too damp. Failing that, I'll get a man in.

I had this on my absolute, or so I thought until it rained & I stood on the deck to see air bubbles coming up from all over the place.Whole thing was shot. Despite still being under warranty Absolute did not want to know. Now having an extension to the platform that SWMBO wanted anyway & whole new deck, probably less than the legal fee's going for Absolute & I didn't want to go for the dealer as he has done me no harm. Shame as the next boat this family bought would otherwise have been an Absolute without any doubt whatsoever. I would have probably got better after sales from the local £ shop.
