Hi all, hopefully this info is of help to other owners.. On changing the fuel filter setup to a duplex Racor on our ST35 we found 20 litres of water in the fuel tank (that’s 2 large buckets worth)… I thought it may have been leaking through the fuel filler, but that was sound… the only explanation we could find was a previous owner filling it with water by accident (the water filler is hidden at the rear of the boat, but the fuel filler is next to the waste pump out). We got all the water out… the tank is a actually quite accessible. Not something easily picked up by a survey… Beneteau/ Ancasta provided some schematics when we investigated this, including the fuel tank set up as we were also considering a fuel polisher install… diagrams attached just in case they are of help to the community here… I’ll also post them on the swift trawler owners club for maximum reach… this kind of info seems quite hard to get hold of…

interesting that the fuel pickup in the tank seems to say “The suction tube must go as low as possible in order to pump the sludge”..!!

What a wonderful example of a builder providing some detailed information which will no doubt prove useful to future owners.
Any UK builders ever done anything even remotely similar. ?
The first owner will no doubt be employing somebody to fix mysterious problems, the 10th needs all the help he can get.
Never did find where the Auto Antenna/ AIS switch was hidden on my boat, did eventually discover where the Fluxgate was....
... eventually and then only by accident !

A sailboat but yes, I got loads of information from Oyster in 2016 (before their temporary demise) on my boat including copies of blueprints/plans which I needed to facilitate a replacement rudder.
In fact, despite the age of the boat (1989) after I bought her in 2005 I became something of a PITA to Oyster for several months and they responded to every question quickly and in great detail.

My only experience of trying to get any info regards a old boat was with Princess.
From the response, just about Nil, suspect it came as bit of a suprise they had ever bothered to built anything that small . :)

Thanks for posting, useful info. Did you abandon the fuel polisher idea after fitting the Racors?
For the time being, yes. I’m told the cummins draws a lot more fuel than it actually uses, so returns clean fuel back to the tank anyway. now I have the Racors installed, I don’t think I‘ve got room near to the tank (had to move the extinguisher as it is… but replaced the powder one with a SeaFire one anyway)…

This is also the first boat I’ve owned that came with handbook!
