Due to work commitments i wont be getting much use of my boat this year and am toying with putting her into dry stack for the year at either Swanwick or Hamble point, The Price difference is barely £150 for my 26 footer between the 2 marinas. Logic says it seems Pointless leaving her sitting in the water attracting weed for months between use but I do still want to be able to use her should i get that rare opportunity.Swaying towards Hamble point due to location and my time constrictions. Any of you had drystack experience? Whats are your thoughts ?

I had a little sport boat in the dry stack at Universal a few year back. It was great. Minimal maintenance, easy to get to for cleaning, just great boating. IMHO go to hamble point. It's much closer to get out and Swanwick is in a real mess, the dry stack isn't level either so the boats dont sit square.

Thanks Diligaf, Hamble point does seem to be the sensible choice for ease of access and time saved not trundling up and down the river plus i still get mdl`s freedom berthing which i currently get at Shamrock Quay.

Have you looked at Trafalgar Wharf, Porchester?
Don't know how prices compare, but very easy to get to, by road or sea, and boats are all stored undercover.
Very accomodating staff as well.

As you are at Shamrock why not pop next door to Saxon Wharf? Much cheaper than the Hamble and we're all very friendly there :)

Not considered Trafalgar wharf, just a bit to far given my time on the water concerns, know Saxon wharf well from being at shamrock, a planned weekend on the water in the summer would of fallen foul of a technical issue if it hadn't been for the staff at both those sites going out of their way to assist...good guys all round. Saxon only had a couple of spaces left when I spoke to them last week but I think Hamble point offers me the best location. thanks for all your help on this, I just need a good summer and a day off now

Go with the flow - you won't be disappointed at Hamble Point dry stack. They have a great team there and fantastic facilities so close to the Solent. Maybe see you in the Ketch for a beer sometime
