IF the weather is perfect, i'm thinking of heading to Swansea bay for the airshow (1st-2nd July). Where is the best place to anchor for the day and do they have any exclusion zones for yachts?

Our pals were there for it last year and didn't mention any restrictions. However apparently Tawe lock was wildly oversubscribed- hours of milling about to get out apparently. So if you want to come in and out of Swansea (as opposed to visit the bay!) it could be a bit of a nightmare.

There is an exclusion zone - to be honest, it's not huge and most of the bay is left open. You probably wouldn't tend to anchor in the exclusion zone anyway as it gets pretty shallow. Tawe Lock will be busy that weekend but they are pretty good at stacking the boats in and people are mostly quite good natured about it. Once, I counted 14 other boats in the lock with us.
