Swale/Medway YBW meet 2010

Oh Lordy, have you consulted with Ye Olde Git? Treading on his (webbed )toes here doncha know. He's been organising unsuccessful meets since............
You realise if you don't seek out his sage wisdom on where to visit you'll get his dander up, and you know when you see a drunk tramp shouting at the tourists...Saying that it will take him several tides and a favourable wind to drift him within hailing distance of you, and as long as you're not anchored under any high chimleys, which is what he uses to navigate (:)) by you may be safe.
The following picture is of myself barely managing to avoid disaster whilst removing my pet Elephant Hound from Sharfleet.

Ahem...just noticed, the round dangly thing is a cork....honest

Good fortune and a total lack of ablity see me making it on to the wonderful beach.

I wouldn't reccomend a gathering on the Islands as the grass isn't quite up to scratch.

Yep, I posted on the Medway midsummer meet thread, and even sent Ye Olde Git a pm. We await his esteemed opinion....:p

You'll have to wait until he can get Sue up to speed on their Pifco Dynomatique, basically a bicycle with a very small dynamo attached.

I can see Hoo Marina from my berth. Probaby use a pint of diesel getting there. Fred would have a whole mile and a half to go, so it might be too expensive for him.

We've (HNYC) kicked about a provisional programme this week but so as not to make a misjudgement ,another few days (maybe a week) are needed to progress our 2010 programme and I shall update you after that.

Sorry for the delay folks but wheels grind slow!

We've more or less sorted out our sailing programme for next year and, more importantly addressed the tide situation.

To offer a sensible tide to encourage visitors from East Coast departure/return ports and still give them an opportunity to visit local points of interest in the Rochester area and have a meal at the club we have come up with these three dates.

10 July, 24 July or 7 August.

The number of vacant river moorings is an unknown and needs to be addressed nearer the time in the light of which tenants are absent, similarly with Hoo Marina, but in addition we do have a drying quay, sandy bottom, which would accommodate 4 or 5 bilge keelers, bows on with stern lines to jetty/anchor .

We should be able to resolve most issues I think!

Plenty of time to think about it- please ask for anything more you may need- we hope many of you will be able to visit us

Early indications are that drying out isn't possible for the bosts incorrectly specified for East Coast Cruising.:D:D
Perhaps I will meet Cantata at Harty Ferry on the Friday evening, then we will amble up the Swale/Medway to meet you all in a deeper puddle for the Saturday Evening.

Well, there is Medway YC at Upnor, Chatham Marina, Gillingham? More choices for 1.8m?

Can you get ashore at Stangate or similar for a BBQ?

Oh dear Jim seems we have a case of east coast boaties not owning east coast boats!

Oh god how I love floating in ditches :D:D:D
