Someone promised to post back soundings in vic. of SW Sunk. I have forgotten who was going that way... Has anyone some really recent knowledge, preferably identifying the least sounding taking the 'obvious' shortest route by this mark, ie about 125T ? I only need 2m, but my plan takes me through there at pretty close to LW.

Tiller Girl posted some depths on the PBO forum on 28 July. I can't do you a link as I'm not clever enough.

Just come back from the Orwell and Walton Backwaters. Did you find my post on the PBO side? There is a recent Notice to Mariners for the SW Sunk which puts in a couple of shoal patches SW of the SW Sunk. Having put one of those co-ords into my GPS I see on the way back we went over the shallowest part! There was 12' 6" over this shallow point 1 hr after high water Sheerness. The earlier post will tell you the range. I guess at 2m draft near LW you will need to find the real swatchway which the latest Admiralty Chart puts further away towards the SW from the beacon than the route most people generally use. Can't give you the Lat and Long until Monday, got to go to our daughter's wedding!
