I have a Suzuki DF6 outboard purchased new just over 3 years ago and the paint is falling off in sheets. It's generally in daily use, as our previous Yamaha was but, whereas the Yamaha paint was excellent after arbout 12 years, this thing looks like it came off the Ark. Reply from Portuguese dealer is "sorry, it's out of warranty".

Looks like the primer coat may not have been applied. Anyone else had this problem.

I had corrosion bubbling/paint shedding on the lower leg of a Suzuki 2.5. (it was 2 - 3 years old at the time). I took photographs to the Suzuki stand at SIBS and a senior rep from UK Head Office asked me to email him details with the pics. My local dealer was then instructed to replace the lower leg F.O.C.It had been dealer serviced and was within warranty. Good service in my case.

Me too

I apreciate this is an old thread but . . Yes, I have the exact same problem on my DF4. The paint started to come off last year after just a year. I believe the manufacture date would have been similar to yours.

I should have done something about it then as its coming off in sheets now.

Only seems to be on the leg though. The rest seems ok.

I will repaint the leg myself. Probably in some 'anti theft' colour to kill 2 birds with one stone.

I would not buy another Suzuki.
