I have a suzuki DF 115 A and would like to have some info re flushing using the flushing adapter under the cowl. Manual states that this should be done with engine not running. Ok. Should motor be tilted to up position or down? Also i tried this method but only left tap running for 3 minutes but only saw water going out from intake holes. Is it normal? Should this method produces also the pee stream like when running on muffs?
Thanks for your help

I have the same engine (2014) and flush with the flushing adapter after every trip. Fully tilted up, and water definitely streams out of the pee hole, in a nice arc to about 4 feet away. It also floods out of the intakes.

I always turn the tap on full, and usually leave it running for around 15 minutes while we close the boat down.

Might be that you don't have enough water pressure to properly flush and get a stream from the tell tale.. This is a problem I am trying to solve where I keep my boat.. We are on a trailer so might need to find a big enough "tank" to run the engine in..

When using the flushing connection on the engine, are you cnnecting the hose through some type of adaptor? Or, as I do, just holding the hose against the pipe on the engine (having undone it of course)?

I actually took a saw to a rainwater tank. Makes up for a nice 'bucket' to run the engine in. Not very handy, but did the job.

Yes im using the adaptor given to me by suzuki. Im connecting the adaptor to the built in shower at the boat in order to be able to flush while at sea because boat stays moored. Do you think Guys the outboard is not getting enough water pressure?

I would say it's better than nothing but if it's not pushing out the tell tale it's probably not flushing it 100% so some water channels may not be getting flushed very well if at all..

I have the 175hp Suzuki and flush every time after use. I am in the marina so can only flush with the adapter which works perfectly well with water running out the tell tale after a minute or less. I run it for c. 10 mins as I tidy up. If it's not coming through the tell tale I'd suggest either the water pressure is too low or you are not screwing the adapter in well enough. For clarity you flush it with the engine off and I do it with it still lowered to get access to the adapter at the back and the tilt the engine up after flush but either way would work.
