With reference to my last post (Fully comp insurance) All of the insurance companies I have been in contact with are asking for a " Full out of water survey" First I would like recommendations for a surveyor in the Lowestoft area, and an idea of cost. I know I will have to pay extra on top for the lift out.

You might find a surveyor who's prepared to do the job with the boat dried out at a quay.

I'd suggest looking at the trade association listings for the area then look for one-man outfits located close to a suitable quayside.

Apart from the cost saving, it's one less problem to deal with.

We had ours done last year, £350 for the survey and £150 for lift out, hold and re float, this was in Hull so assume cost would be similar

Not in Lowestoft itself but covering that area - Dom Buckley (East Anglia Yacht Surveys)

I had Dominic survey a boat for me almost a month ago and still waiting for the full report and valuation.
He did send an initial findings email the day after which was good but nothing since then, so nothing to present to the insurers.

I had Dominic carry out a pre purchase survey almost a month ago. He emailed the initial findings which were very informative, but since then I have not received the full report and valuation from him, meaning I am finding difficulty with insurers requesting it.

That is very poor service. We have always received full reports within days and certainly within a week of a survey.

I have used Ian Lumley previously and he is well known around the Broads and does a thorough job.

There is a reason you won't find his name on the IIMS list of surveyors anymore...
