There is a chap in Barcelona, yes I know it's a long way, but he does travel down there quite a bit and I have used him for three seperate reports. His name isDavid Dabney and he is also very good at gelcoat repairs by all acounts.
You can contact him at dabney@terra.es or on telephone no: 0034 936 89 0536
I have been down there once to view and purchase a boat , all i can say is that i met a group of very amusing people that where down there for various reasons and I would be advisnig people to be carful when doing business in Spain.
Go into the Marina in Benalmadena . Go to Carrera Yachting ask for Tommy and he will advise you of a respectable surveyor. Tell him Euro Boats sent you and I am sure he will look after you.
No, its just me! I do know what you mean however, and it is normally the Brits who are worst at ripping you off though our Spanish friends are learning quickly.
That part does attract a "certain sort of person" and the rest of us have to suffer. There are very good services for all aspects of boating but usually away from the areas frequented by the Germans and Brits, though large numbers of Germans are now moving to Croatia.
Have you considered a surveyor in Gibraltar? The surveyors there will most probably be british. I had my ship surveyed in Almeria by a surveyor from Alicante, but of british nationality, but that was two years ago. I don't know the name anymore, but a broker could help you.
