Surveyor required North Wales

Seasons Greetings all! (Ok I know it's a bit early!)

Would anyone have any recommendations for surveyors in north Wales please? I've tried three from the YBDSA list and two too busy until new year and one from south wales not keen on travelling "up north!"

All recommendations appreciated.

Very helpful and thorough (without getting silly). Advised me on methods of repair too. Looked at my Centaur within a week a couple of months back.

+1 for mark mcGarry-used him once and pretty thorough, quite cheap and happy to discuss rectification options AND does not have a bee in his bonnet about gas safety certs, which are not mandatory, until your surveyor says you need one and then you do!

I have a very thorough survey done by Andrew Potter, at Port Dinorwic 8 yrs ago when we bought our boat. I'd recommend him, if he is still working.

He's finished up. I heard some mixed reviews about him though... Too thorough for some it seems.

Yes I've been in touch with Mark McGarry and he was probably the favourite but I'm just looking at other alternatives (if there are any) but it's good to know he's recommended.

Yes Andrew has retired now, and yes he was very thorough, though not necessarily a bad thing in some ways. He did know wooden boats however, unlike another pillock I almost used for mine who didn't have a clue.

Mark McGarry would be my first choice followed by Mike Fox, sorry I don't have his number. Glad Potter has retired, would never let him near a boat of mine again.
