Can anyone recommend a good surveyor to do a report on a 58 foot fibreglass motorboat with MAN 820hp engines? Location Rome, Italy.

Some years ago I had a survey done,
and later on some service
from "Tantulli motori" (MAN service agent)
they have a branch in Marina Ostia near Rome,
at the time they were experienced and reliable.
if you like I can find the contact info from the guy that did our service,
he's a friend of my friend in that region, (so he can't afford to fool us)
if the boat is coming from that area, there is a big chance that they did the maintenance on the engines,
(actually that was what happened on my boat pruchase)
so then you might want not to use them (?)

These people used to look after my boat engines ,when it lived in Italy .Although not based in Roma ,i think they have Roma contacts /agents and should be able to source a good engine surveyor .
Speak to them -there's a lot ( or was pre 2007 ?) of boat Bulders fitting MAN in the Roma area .
If they supplied the engines they rivet there own plate with serial No ,s etc inboard near the dipsticks

A 1990 Canados, by chance? If so, check out who allegedly rebuilt the engines, and do NOT use them...!

I know some, also can get the contacts from the one in Spezia. The most important thing as Mapis is saying is to use a different mechanic from one which serviced the boat in the past.
