Surveyor Required in La Rochelle Area.

I have been asked whether I knew a Yacht Surveyor in the La Rochelle area of France who can survey a yacht and produce a report that will satisfy a UK Insurance Company.

Has anyone got any experience of this and any names in the La Rochelle/ Charente Maritime area.

We used him in 2011. We bought the boat he surveyed for us and haven't been disappointed.

I used Claude Metriere(sp), who is in La Rochelle. Nice guy and turned up quickly for the ins. survey on my puddle jumper. I will look up the file for his details.

I have tried both his landline and mobile numbers and email and both the phone numbers are dead and no answer from his email as yet. Was he someone who you think might be still around or gone off and retired somewhere? Many thanks Nigel

I don't think he will have retired.

He works between England and France and is in France every 2 weeks or so. Received the report the day after the survey. It seems very thorough, just waiting to hear back from the insurance company.

I just look in the pages blanches and he is not there. It was in '07, so perhaps he has moved or retired, but he wasn't that old. Worth a call all the same.

Edit: missed the second page-Duh. Looks like Jackson might be your man. IIRR Claude's english was a bit rough,so perhaps not best for a UK ins co.
