Does anyone know a tame surveyor who is flexible enough to do an abreviated survey - out and back to Italy in a day. I just need structure and valuation.
Jim Pritchard ? Thought you'd been and done that ?

John Ross in Malta might travel to Italy as part of his normal day job. ISTR discussing travel to Sicily and/or Sardinia with him when we were talking about assessing my boat for charter.
Excellent recommendation. Very reasonable rate and a flexible approach.
Thanks

I know its a long time ago but did you get a surveyor over to Rome, how did it go what did it cost.I don't mind paying for an overnight stop, but the first survey I approached said they could do it but because it was an overnight it would be two full days at £800 plus Vat per day, plus flights from Heathrow as it was local, plus hotel and meals.
£2000 plus was a bit steep.
By abbreviated, I just need the hull checking, the value confirming and if possible the tonnage measurements.
I don't need to be told how many lights do/don't work and that he couldn't find the switch for the anchor winch. Equipment and mechanicals have been thoroughly check. Anyway, I have found the guy who will do exactly what I need and understands completely.
Its the usual UK market p!ss take at work again from everyone else
Sounds interesting any chance of a quick résumé !Oh dear

This was a long time ago and a very long story.![]()
