Surveyor Dartmouth

I would second Nick Vass. Did a survey for me a couple of months ago and was very easy to deal with a user friendly report

Nick Vass - Good solid boat surveyor

Nick Vass is your man at Omega Yacht Services, you can't go wrong with Nick who surveyed two boats for me, superb job each time. regards Roger

Another vote for Nick Vass, I've known Nick for a few years through the Hurley owners club and the Triumph sports six club. Very knowledgeable, forthcoming, enthusiastic and down to earth.
Without Nicks help I would have struggled to drag my Hurley 20 up from the sorry depths to which it had slipped. I can't comment on value for money as he has never charged me for the huge amount of advice and encouragement that he has given me.
Cheers Phil

As this thread has come back to life I thought I should post an update. The first recommendation in the thread and the only one for the first few days was for Roger Pinder at RP Marine Surveys. I spoke with Roger and he did a great job for me on the survey and sea trial. Pointing out some issues and also giving good advice on future maintenance needs and enhancements that could be done. Roger also kept in touch after the survey to make sure the purchase was progressing well. The problems have now been remedied and the purchase has completed.

Thanks again for the recommendations and Merry Christmas all.

I am very surprised to see a potentially negative comment about Nick Vass as a surveyor. Firstly, he is very good technically and through the thousands of boats he has surveyed he finds the issues. Secondly, he is an enthusiast, approachable and helpful.
There are many positive comments about his services and as fellow marine surveyor, I personally recommend him. Where reputation is so important, I would not do this if I wasn't 100% confident in his ability and approach.

I have just used Roger Pinder of RP Marine to survey a boat in Dartmouth. Roger was very professional and did an excellent job. He quickly produced a concise and informative report that revealed a lot of issues that I did not suspect existed. I highly recommend Roger and would use him again. We have zero connections and only met because a Plymouth broker recommended him to me,
