Surveyor & Broker - Warrington area...

As per the title - anyone know a surveyor in the Warrington area? Also a broker (just to draw up the paperwork). PM if necessary.

Looking at "distance buying" a relatively low cost boat (sub 10k) and would make things easier to have people local to sort out the formalities for me - no longer a fan of long drives or train journeys (have you seen the price of day returns these days!) .

For survey I have used Jonathan B. Jackson a couple of times. My last survey in the north Lakes earlier this year cost £280 all in.

I have always used Mark McGarry for my surveys. He is based in North Wales so just a quick blast along the M55! He does a good survey and also is great for a sensible conversation about any findings / observations................in my mind that is probably the most important part of any survey process unless just doing a box ticking exercise for an insurance survey etc!

There are a lot of canal boats in the greater Warrington area. It might be worth trying a barge broker for the paperwork aspect - they might also advise on surveyors too.

I used him in 2001 for a survey of our Jeanneau Tonic on a trailer in Bolton and he was good, tis but a short drive down the M62 from Liverpool to Warrington so not too much travelling cost.
