Of course we all took stuff that merely took up space and never got used. I'll start:

More meat than I could eat before it went off.

Tools - enough to build a small boat for emergencies.

Sextant

Spare carpet.

I would say 'curtains' but they were quite useful in the end.

extra tools and sextant- I would classify them along with fire extinguishers and a liferaft- not really usefull until the day you wish you had bought more of/ bigger ones/ better ones!

Paul, I thought you would of listed the dining room table with 6 chairs (including two carvers). I suppose you used it to play pool on. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
Any trip that required fire exts,liferaft, grab-bag,survival suit etc. I would have to regard a failure. Items I found useless on Azores trip were viola and coal-burning stove-and I suppose I must say, rudder
 
Dubarry Goretex sailing boots!

I wore good old rubber wellies for years on the foredeck, never once had wet feet.

Bought ponsey Dubarry boots and emptied them every race!
